Arriving on a cruise was probably not the best introduction to Mexican culture and history... not unless we wanted the culture and history of t-shirt and hat sales to gringo turistas.

That said, we had a good time, especially in Mázatlan, where we hired out a taxi with our new friends, Dave and Jerry, for a tour of the city and some great views of the landscape. We also visited the local cathedral and market. What a trip... stunning, and with perhaps a touch of authentic local color.
