Between San Francisco and Victoria, we spent the day at sea. Joe and I got in a good workout in the ship’s gym, then enjoyed the various spa pools and such. After lunch with Leo and Luke, we wandered to the ship’s enormous theatre to hear Rita Moreno speak on the history of radio, television and film - and to hear her render brief excerpts from several plays, including the famous “Attention must be paid!” speech from Death of a Salesman. Amazing. After a nap, we dressed up for the ship’s formal night and met up with Leo and Luke in the main dining room for a fantastic dinner - right next to the Captain’s Table. Great view - of both the wake of the ship and of the Chief Engineer.

After dinner, we made our way to Michael’s Lounge - a piano bar - where tonight’s “Friends of Dorothy” meet-and-greet was happenin’. Since the ship continued from Vancouver to Alaska as an Atlantis gay cruise, there were quite a few “Friends” aboard. At Michael’s, we happily met up with Steve and David again and spent the evening with them, enjoying a few drinkies and dancing.
